Supporting people to live the life they choose.

Our supported living services help people to maintain their independence while accessing support tailored to their needs, goals and lifestyle

Quality supported living that helps people on their journey to independence

At Holmleigh, our supported living service is designed to support autistic people and people with learning disabilities, mental health issues, or physical disabilities to live as independantly as possible, however and wherever they choose.

We work closely with Falcon Housing to provide accommodation that is suited to each person’s needs. Each person is given the information and skills required to understand and hold their own tenancy agreement and manage bills. Support is then provided depending on people’s needs, from a few hours a week to round-the-clock care.

This provides people with a place that they can call home with support designed and delivered around their skills, needs and goals.

More about supported living

What is supported living?

Supported living is a service designed to help people with a wide range of support needs retain their independence by being supported in their own home. The support varies depending on individual needs but will range from personal care as well as other aspects of daily living such as looking after the home, accessing the community, attending appointments/activities and paying bills.

How is support funded?

The level of support that is required varies on a person-by-person basis and can range from a few hours a day to 24-hour care within their own home. Supported Living is usually funded through a Local or Health Authority, following a needs-based assessment carried out by a social worker/health professional.

Who is supported living for?

Supported living can be accessed by anyone who needs support; including Autistic people, those with Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities, Mental Health, Epilepsy and Complex Needs. It is also ideal for those who require support with daily living or any other activity that allows them to maintain their quality of life and independent living.

What are the benefits of supported living?

Supported living is about people having choice and control over their lives and home. People’s needs can vary greatly in the level of support required, from a few hours of support, to more specialised support, or 24-hour care. In a supported living, individuals will be able to live independently, with specialist staff on hand to support.
