Cooking with Theas: A person-centered path to independence
After taking an active role in creating her person-centered path, Theas has recently launched her own weekly cooking show! “Cooking with Theas” is being shared across our social media channels, giving Theas the opportunity to practice her cooking skills and take steps towards independent living.
Theas’ person-centered path
At the end of last year, Theas lead a session with her team at Hayburn Bungalows to create her person-centered path. The aim of the session was to highlight her goals for the future and identify the steps that need to happen to achieve her ambitions. As part of the session, Theas shared that she wants to move into more independent living in the future.
What is a person-centered path?
The path is a way of identifying a specific goal or dream for the future, and then working out the actions that need to be taken in order to make that happen. With the goal of living independently at the heart of the plan, Theas worked with her team to identify that there are a few more skills she wants to learn before she makes the move – including cooking.
“Cooking with Theas” is born!
To help motivate Theas to keep improving her cooking skills, the idea of a regular “Cooking with Theas” feature was born. With a love for social media, the idea of sharing recipes with everyone is a big motivator to get her cooking and take her one step closer to achieving her goal of independent living!
